Entertaining Our Seniors at Western Slope Health Center in Placerville CA

By Patrick Philbrick-Director on Jun 15, 2014 11:11:43 PM

Our staff at Harmony Home Health had a fabulous time recently hosting an evening wine and cheese event for the families of residents at the 5 Star Western Slope Health Center in Placerville, California. Supporting the family members of our seniors is a great way to help ease the burden these families are going through as they strive to support their family members admitted to skilled care. The residents, staff, and family members were all delightfully surprised to see us there on a Friday night, exclusively for the purpose of making there lives a little brighter and more enjoyable.

Our director of Nursing, Jennifer Jarrett RN, and our Director, Patrick Philbrick, cheerfully greeted the families, served them a variety of gourmet cheeses and some delectable local selections of local red and white El Dorado County wines, and enjoyed the friendship and joy of sharing the privilege of caring for people we love.

It was absolutely delightful to give our time and effort to this most special referral partner. Volunteering our time and staff is part of our mission in the greater Sacramento area. Harmony is very active throughout our community and in senior facilities. Every week we put on ice cream socials, potato bars, and do pro-bono talks and in-service trainings for health care professionals.

Many thanks to Shane McCormick, Activities Director at Western Slope for helping us to put out the word for this event, and providing the room, tables, cloths, and the facility to host this very fun event. Thanks also to the kitchen staff, resident nurses, LVN’s and CNA’s on staff that evening for helping us supervise and entertained the residents that joined us.

As a Placerville Home Care agency, we feel very privileged to have such a close working relationship with Western Slope Skilled Nursing Facility, and also feel blessed to be called to such satisfying and heartwarming service.
