Senior Santa-Friends of El Dorado County Seniors

By Patrick Philbrick-Director on Oct 4, 2013 8:00:21 AM

Dear Friends, Neighbors. Business Owners and Supporters,

Friends of El Dorado County Seniors is excited and happy to Invite you to help us raise funds for our 2nd Annual SENIOR SANTA, a project supporting senior citizens in our community who cannot afford to buy Christmas presents for their families and loved ones, and often have difficulty getting out and about.

With your help, and the help of the community, we are hoping to raise enough funds to enable 20-30 El Dorado County seniors to shop for Christmas. The more funds we raise, the more seniors we can help. Shopping will take place at Kmart on December 10th.

Each senior will be transported and accompanied by a caregiver or a Friends of Seniors’ volunteer. The shoppers will meet at the Mother Lode Lions Hall for lunch, followed by shopping. After shopping, everyone will return to the Lions Hall, where local high school students will be on hand to help with refreshments and gift wrapping. Christmas music and a surprise visit from Santa will round out the day. In addition to providing seniors the opportunity and the funds to Christmas shop, this project provides an opportunity for camaraderie and socialization. By helping cut down on depression during the holiday season, SENIOR SANTA will improve the quality of life for participating seniors, who often feel isolated and alone.

The success of SENIOR SANTA depends on donations and volunteers. We hope you will consider participating in this project. What a special way to give back to our community this holiday season!

Warmest regards,

Joyce Shin, Chair Kathi Lishman, Chair

About Us

Everyone Should Be Cared for With Compassion & Dignity

Caring for an aging parent or spouse can be overwhelming. It takes a lot of time and energy, especially with so much already on your plate.

We understand because we’ve been through it with our own parents. Our founders, have both taken care of their own aging parents.

We started Harmony Home Care to help other families give their loved ones the care they deserve. We write this blog to help you deal with the challenges and stress of coping with your aging parents
